Riccardo was born on August 14th, 1992 in Milan, Italy.
When about 10 months old, Riccardo did some modeling for children wear. It was then when we were asked whether we would allow our son to pose for an advertisement to support the research against Muscular Dystrophy. All the parents refused to do it, either because there was no retribution or just for superstition.
We decided that it would not hurt to help children by just taking a few pictures. At that time I knew nothing about Muscular Dystrophy. A few months later, posters were in different locations in Milan promoting the research.
About 2 years later, when Riccardo was 3 years old, he was diagnosed with the very same disease. That poster was telling the truth, and we did not know it yet.
Our lives have changed. Today we still fight for a cure and for a life as normal as it can be. Riccardo, despite the unstoppable progression of the disease, is a happy child. His teachers, physiotherapist and all those who know him love Him, and his sense of humor. He is growing a strong and great personality.Child’s Strength is dedicated to him. I am his father, and he is my teacher.
I will always Love You Riccardo.
